Taking part in the ground breaking ceremony were Becky Jones, Marie Jones, Jody Jones, Jeff Sherman, and Faye Stewart.

BLUE RIVER: A wonderful day of celebration last Friday at the McKenzie Community Track and Field featured a ground breaking for the multi-purpose building that will be constructed at the track.

Mrs. Marie Jones and two other members of the Jones family joined track board president, Jeff Sherman, and county commissioner, Faye Stewart, in the ceremonial turning of the rain soaked soil. That inclement weather didn’t deter a nice crowd on hand to witness the event, which was part of the Aaron and Marie Jones Invitational Track Meet. This is the third year that the Community Track and Field Board of directors played host to student athletes from several area schools for a day of competition at the state of the art facility made possible by the generosity of Aaron and Marie Jones.
