Goodpasture Covered Bridge construction update

Goodpasture Covered Bridge 11/19/12 update

Scaffold on Goodpasture Covered BridgeThe timber truss loads have been transferred to the temporary steel truss allowing the steel truss to support the entire bridge load.  We are raising the load limit from 10 tons to 20 tons.  The bridge is now posted 20 tons.  Over the next couple of weeks the Contractor will be installing post tensioning on the bridge (which will put the camber back in the bridge), working on timber truss members, and electrical/lighting facilities.  While going through the construction zone, please watch for flaggers, workers, and construction vehicles in the area and expect minor delays.  A two week advance notice will be provided before the next bridge closures which are expected early next month.
