ClearWater Coalition hosts annual meeting
VIDA: The McKenzie Clear-Water Coalition (MCWC) will host its annual meeting and social event on April 5th at the Vida McKenzie Community Center. Area residents are invited to join the festivities, enjoy a social evening with neighbors, gather information on current events that may impact them, meet special guests, and vote for MCWC officers.
The social hour will begin at 6 p.m. During that time, voting by paper ballot will be open for MCWC officers. Candidates selected by the nominating committee are posted on the MCWC website at http://mckenzieclearwatercoalition.com/2013-slate-of-officers/ . Candidates will be in attendance as well for people to meet and converse with. Results of the election will be announced as soon as the votes are counted.
Non-alcoholic beverages will be available during the social hour and throughout the evening. People may bring their own beer or wine if they wish. Enchiladas with the traditional sides will be served beginning at 7 p.m. and continue as long as the food or attendees last. All ages are welcome, whether or not they are a member of the organization.
The event is also the annual meeting of the MCWC but say people shouldn’t be put off by that label. Guests such as East Lane County Commissioner Faye Stewart and a representative of the Forest Service will be attending for informal dialogue ... no speeches. Information will be available on hot topics such as current legislation the MCWC is monitoring (Senate Bill 401 and SB 217, which could impact stream bank properties and water rights, respectively) and EWEB’s developing Voluntary Incentive Program. In addition, people can take advantage of the group’s newly revamped website for the latest information on these and other current topics at http://mckenzieclearwatercoalition.com.
People planning to attend can RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to aid in ordering food and beverages.
