McKenzie River Guides Cook-Off

Dutch oven cookingThe McKenzie River Guides Cook-Off and Boat Safety Rodeo will be held this Saturday, April 20th, at the Hendrick’s Bridge Wayside Park. During the day, the Oregon State Police will be conducting annual boat inspections. In addition, McKenzie Fire and Rescue will be demonstrating swift water rescue on the McKenzie River at the park.
The McKenzie River Guides conducts the 5th annual Outdoor Cook-Off during the rodeo. Members of the guides association will be demonstrating Dutch oven cooking techniques by grilling fresh food, frying chicken and providing other outdoor food delicacies. Final judging will occur at 1 p.m.
All proceeds from the Cook-Off and Raffle support the “Free Life Jacket” program. Lane County Parks will be waiving park fees during the event. For more information, contact Jon Payne, at 541-579-3474.
