Small business centerFINN ROCK: People interested in starting a new business or improving the one they already own are invited to this month’s general meeting of the McKenzie River Chamber of Commerce. Meagan O’Connor, Education Coordinator/Business Advisor at Lane Community College’s Small Business Development Center will talk about the “Start Run Grow Your Business” program,  a nine month, individual education plan developed for the entrepreneur.  

O’Connor says the course includes includes six months access to Palo Alto Software’s LivePlan business management program along with face-to-face advising on a monthly basis. Participants will also have access to a technology cohort, adjunct professor from the University of Oregon, and Tim Berry’s learning business modules.

“The program is for those contemplating a proprietorship, people in business who would like to expand and perfect their skills, and owners who would like to take their existing business to the next level,” O’Connor notes. “ The cost is generally $750, but is currently waived in full.”  

She also plans present some other material and trainings available through the Small Business Development Center at Lane Community College - like product development, small business management courses and employer training services.

The noon luncheon meeting is open to the public and will be held at the and the McKenzie Community Track, 51326 Blue River Drive.
