Santiam wreckOn December 25, at about 10 a.m., OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a crash involving two vehicles on Highway 20 near milepost 77 (just east of the Santiam Junction).
Preliminary information indicates a 2003 Chevy Tahoe was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when it lost control on the icy roadway. The Chevy crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2005 Dodge Pickup nearly head-on.
One of the passing motorists, a doctor, stopped and provided medical attention to the injured passengers before medical personnel arrived. In all, six people were transported by ground ambulance to Saint Charles Hospital in Bend for various ranges of injuries.

BR crash victimToday, just before 6 a.m., OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash off the roadway on Highway 20 near milepost 98 (just west of Sisters).
Initial information indicates a 1996 Honda was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest on it's side. Upon emergency crews arriving, the found the operator, Troy A Crabb, 35, of Blue River, deceased.

OSP logoOregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of Deschutes County Sheriff's Office and Bend Police Department, are investigating the death of an adult male following a standoff during a stop along Highway 20. The man was stopped following a report from an outside agency that he was suicidal and armed.

OSP press releaseOregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into a Sunday afternoon fatal traffic crash on Highway 20 just east of the Santiam Summit. One lane of the highway was open at 5 pm. on 5/18, but traffic was delayed.
