Over the last 11 days the Lane County Sheriff’s Office has been assigning extra patrols to the McKenzie Bridge community due to the fire activity.  This provided a law enforcement presence in areas that do not routinely see p

July 20: 10:31 am: Reckless Driving – Marcola Rd. & Sunderman Rd. Involved gray Dodge Neon, unable to maintain lane – possibly drunk or texting.

4:03 pm: Theft – 91000 block, Horse Creek Rd. Involved is a scooter stolen off caller’s property.

7:28 pm: Criminal Trespass – 89000 block, Greenwood Dr. Complainant has a camper on property plugged into power & using the poll. 1 male said he would leave but hasn’t. Unknown if there are more.

April 6: 7:32 pm: Suspicious Conditions – Deerhorn Rd. & Tiki Lane. Report of bones lying on a sleeping bag – bones only, no skin, no skull. This is possibly a shoulder, sternum & vertebrae. Complainant is will to lead deputies to location, also to take photos & email them. 20:31: Appear to be animal bones.

The Sheriff’s Office has learned that community members are again receiving calls saying they have warrants out for their arrest for missing a court date.  The callers are demanding to have money sent to clear the warrant.
These calls are a scam, and community members should hang up immediately and not engage with the caller.
