September 28, 2015

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Our girls volleyball team picked up two league victories last week  before hosting the RPI tournament over the weekend. Our beautiful campus  was on display for seven visiting schools. It was a great day thanks to  the help of so many volunteers.

Our football team put up our most points of the season during our  homecoming game but came up short against the Sailors. Thanks for all  the support.

McKenzie Varsity Sports Schedule This Week

The McKenzie Varsity Volley-ball team hosts Siletz Valley on Tuesday, September 15. The match will start at 6:00 pm. The McKenzie Cross Country Teams host the EWEB Canal Run on Wednesday, September 16 with the race starting at 4:30 pm. The start of the race is located near the Johnson Creek Road in Leaburg. Further directions may be found on athletic.net or calling the McKenzie High School Office.

Over the weekend our volleyball and football teamed traveled together to Gilchrist. While there we experienced great hospitality and  sportsmanship from the Grizzlies. Our football team showed a valiant  effort against a speedy Grizzly team. The volleyball team came back from  two sets down and rallied to an amazing comeback victory. Our boys had  the gym rocking in support of our girls. It was a great trip for all.

Last week our girls volleyball team took down Mapleton to start out  the league season 1-0. Our football team faced Days Creek and despite a  great effort, couldn't keep up with their speed.
Our only home contest will be a middle school football jamboree on Saturday.
Thank you for all of you're continued support.

Neil Barrett, McKenzie High School Athletic Director

Our high school volleyball and football teams have been hard at work the last two weeks in preparation for the start of the season. Both teams competed in jamborees last week and showed signs of what should be a great season for both squads.
I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming home contests.

Hey everyone,
Last week our boys defeated Mohawk before falling to league leading Siletz Valley.
Our girls beat Siletz Valley on Friday night to claim the Mountain West League Regular Season championship with two games remaining.
This week we host Alsea for senior night. Please note that the boys will be playing the early time slot at 5:30pm. This will be our seniors last regular season home game. Please come out and show your support for all of their hard work over the years.
Have a great week!

The end of a fantastic fall athletic season has come to a close. Our

On Saturday our middle school volleyball team won the MWL middle school
tournament by defeating Alsea in 3 exciting sets.
Also on Saturday our High School volleyball team made the long trek to
