Our story begins just northwest of the McKenzie Bridge, with a service station and a drive-thru espresso. Subsequently, a gift shop emerged, along with a lunch and dinner menu, a custom-designed bar (built by Chris Parazoo) and eventually a breakfast – dinner dining experience in a rustic ambiance with home cooking, handmade gifts and shared stories with local folk!

From George Sherman, then Closen Christian and finally Cyndy Parazoo the Station Espresso became the McKenzie Station Espresso (Pub) in 2009. From renter to owner (2012) Cyndy’s love and commitment to the “Station” has created a loyal clientele, a dedicated team and an incredible menu (including Chris’ briskets!)

AND where did this Cyndy come from to become a stalwart part of the McKenzie River history?! Born in Lake Elsinore and raised in Santa Ana, after graduating from high school Cyndy found herself in the Lake Tahoe area and working at the Sierra Ski Ranch (Where her McKenzie River connections began). After Lake Tahoe Cyndy left for Cedar City in Utah to attend college, and specialize in art and botany.

Friends (from the Sierra Ski Ranch) encouraged Cyndy to find her eventual home at McKenzie Bridge; so, with trips from Lake Tahoe to the McKenzie Bridge and meeting and marrying John in 1982, her restaurant/lodging/resort journey began. Locals will remember Cyndy at the Village Café (Mom’s Pies), the Cougar Room, the Rustic Skillet, Takodas and finally the Log Cabin Inn as the gift shop and dining room manager. In 2006, Cyndy was the manager on duty when the Log Cabin Inn tragically burnt down.

With a wealth of experience,  Cyndy took over the reins at the McKenzie Station Espresso (Pub) and continues to guide it’s future endeavors! My wife and I can vouch for the incredible staff, the scrumptious food and the rustic ambiance! Come visit us and stay awhile: 56393 McKenzie Highway, McKenzie Bridge. 541-822-6006. Wednesday – Saturday (8 – 8pm) Sunday – (8 – 6 pm).
