    The Old McKenzie Pass will opens to motorists on June 16 Rotary snow plow The McKenzie Pass Highway (OR 242) will officially open to all traffic on Sunday, June 16th, at 9 a.m.. The highway has been closed due to winter snows since November 13th. The opening on June 16 is well over one month ahead of the latest ever, which occurred on July 29, 1999.     Leaburg Hatchery sign The manager of the Leaburg Hatchery reports that the entry sign stolen last week has been recovered. According to Erik Withalm, hatchery manager, the sign was found at the Old McKenzie Hatchery at Leaburg Lake this morning.     Rotary plow on Hwy. 242 On April 24th, ODOT crews had cleared a single lane to the summit of the Old McKenzie Pass Highway - at the Dee Wright Observatory - from the east gate. Two days later the East side access to Dee Wright was available to pedestrians and bicyclists only.     Community clean-up events, such as the Springfield Clean-Up happening this weekend, are no longer able to collect lawn chairs, plastic bins, tubs, baskets, playground toys, flower pots, or any large bulky plastic items to recycle.     Damage area on USFS Rd 15 USFS Road 15 will be closed next Monday and Tuesday (May 13th & 14th) for paving. It was extensively damaged in January of 2012 when heavy rains caused soil under the road to collapse, removing 180 feet of the pavement near milepost 2.
