    Ace Winningham Sparks Win vs. Siletz Warriors Aces impact tennis and poker, and certainly volleyball as well. In Yahtzee, 6 of a kind nets big points. At Siletz on Monday, McKenzie’s Samantha Winningham rolled out 16 of a kind as she led her team’s win over the Warriors by serving 16 service aces. In fact, the Eagles were collectively dialed in that as a team they had 33 total aces on the afternoon. Peace Shepherd contributed 7 aces of her own.     Eagles Edge Eddyville A gathering of Eagles occurred in the Coast Range west of Philomath last Tuesday, Sept. 25. The McKenzie Eagles, hosted by the Eddyville Eagles in a Mt. West League volleyball match, defeated their gracious hosts in 3 straight sets, 25-11, 25-15, 25-18.     Salty McKenzie Sends Siletz Scampering Visiting Siletz Valley brought a seasoned running back to Finn Rock last Friday evening and Senior Warrior Steven Lindstrom chewed up the yardage at Wade Thomas Field, gaining 251 yards on 41 carries. However, the Eagles, in their first Mt. West League game of the 2012 season, held Lindstrom to just one touchdown on the ground, as they clawed their way back from a 24-20 4th quarter deficit, to thrill the hometown crowd with a 40-24 victory.     Eagles Corral Cowboys McKenzie’s Varsity 8-man football team returned to the Victory Trail last Friday, Sept. 14, and defeated the visiting North Lake Cowboys out of Silver Lake by a score of 42 to 22. The non-conference win puts the Eagles at 2-1 for the 2012 season and dropped the Cowboys to 0-2. McKenzie, the defending 2011 Mt.     Mustangs Lasso Eagles, 78-22 McKenzie Eagles Sports Report The Mustangs of Crane corralled the Eagles of McKenzie in the shadow of the Steens Mountain last Friday in a non-conference game. Both teams now post a 1-1 overall record on the early 2012 8-man football season.     Eagles Drop Days Creek In Season Opener, 50-22 McKenzie Eagles Sports Report The McKenzie Eagles 8-man Football Team traveled to Days Creek in Douglas County last Friday to tackle the Wolves in a non-league season opener for both teams.
