Relentless Rain Reschedules Red Devils
McKenzie’s Mt. View League match-up last Thursday, April 4 with the Lowell Red Devils was shut out by a moist low front from the Southwest and will be rescheduled for Thursday, April 11 at Lowell. The first pitch in that make up game will be thrown at 4:30 pm. The Eagles will have to contend with Oakridge prior, however, as they have a contest scheduled at Finn Rock with the Warriors on Wednesday, April 10, with the first batter up at 4:30 pm. With the much needed rain, as far as the forest is concerned, calling the shots, McKenzie is currently stacked up against, back to back, two of the top teams in the Mt. View League. Both Lowell and Oakridge qualified along with the Eagles (and Monroe) for the League playoffs last season and are likely to contend for the playoffs again this year. Eagle’s Head Coach Neil Barrett will be putting in some serious thought on pitching rotations and lineup strategies in what could be a pivotal week in the road to post season aspirations. Monroe is currently at the top of the League standings with a 2-0 League record followed by Lowell, with a 0-1 record, courtesy of the Dragons of Monroe. McKenzie has yet to play a counting League game.
