8/13 Vida house fire

McKenzie Fire/Rescue was dispatched at 2:20 a.m. on August 13th to a structure fire at 45309 McKenzie Highway.

On arrival the first in engine found a fully involved structure.  The structure was located up a 400 foot long steep narrow driveway which required the crews park on McKenzie Hwy and pull the attack lines up the driveway before they could start the initial attack. Along with the structure a small portion of the wildland behind the structure was burned. Crews knocked down the wildland fire, I called ODF for a response so they could focus on the wildland and our crews could focus on the structure.

McKenzie Fire had 18 responders on scene along with seven different apparatus.

The house was a total loss.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation
