Make the McKenzie Connection!
The third annual Tokatee Scramble, a golf tournament benefiting the McKenzie River Medical Clinic, has room for some more teams. This year, the popular tournament takes place on Sunday, August 31, during Labor Day weekend. Tokatee Golf Club, on the McKenzie Hwy. in Rainbow, is hosting the tournament again this year.
Registration fee is $100 per person, or $400 per four-person team, and includes an 18-hole round of golf, cart, range balls, lunch and beverage afterwards, and complimentary raffle tickets. The scramble format makes it easy for all levels of golfers to play. Each player in a team tees off on each hole, and the team’s best tee shot is selected as the spot where all team members then play their second shots, and so forth. Prizes will be given in beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories.
Registration forms for the benefit are available at the Tokatee Pro Shop, the Blue River Post Office, and the McKenzie River Medical Clinic, right across the street from the post office. Call the Tokatee Pro Shop at 541-822-3220 or Mike Van Wyck at 541-822-3236 for more information.
On tournament day, please show up at Tokatee between 10:00 and 11:00 AM to register, warm up, and get your golf cart. Tournament play starts at 11:00 AM with a shotgun signal.
Proceeds from the tournament go to benefit the McKenzie River Medical Clinic, a nonprofit clinic that provides primary health care, physicals, management of chronic health issues such as diabetes and asthma, and immunizations, as some of its services.
