Make the McKenzie Connection!
Last week our boys basketball season ended with a loss to Alsea. They finished 8-17 overall with a 6th place finish in the MWL. Please congratulate the boys as well as Coach Scrivner on a job well done of representing our school with honor. During the MWL championships three of our boys were recognized on the all-league team. Blue Bloomer received honorable mention while Alex Nastasiuk and Eric Huffman were selected to the 3rd team.
On Saturday, our girls took on Siletz Valley for the MWL championship and came away victorious 30-17. This earned them a 1st round bye in the OSAA State Championships. They will host a 2nd round game on Saturday 2/28/15. The opponent and game time will be set at some point on Thursday. I'll send out an update as soon as possible. A win on Saturday
will advance the girls to the round of eight at Baker City High School.
During the MWL Championships, five of our girls were placed on the all-league team. Miyanna Hayes and Kailyn Ringler were selected to the 3rd team. Jorden Smith was placed on the 2nd team. Katey Totten and Buggy Hiddleston were chosen for the 1st team. Buggy was also selected as the MWL Player of the Year. Also, Coach David Duncan was chosen
Co-Coach of the Year. Congratulations are in order to all.
I sincerely hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday to cheer our girls to victory. This will be last opportunity for you to support our seniors at home.
GO EAGLES!
