Hendricks campground remains on the “wish list”

WALTERVILLE: A campground at Hendricks Wayside?  The rumor caused several people to contact the Lane County Parks Dept. to check it’s accuracy.

It is a future possibility, according to Parks Division Manager Mike Russell. Constructing from 20 to 30 tent and RV sites has been part of a county-wide capital improvement plan for the last four years, Russell notes. Every year the $1.1 million Hendricks campsite proposal goes to the end of the list, due to a lack of funds.

The Parks Advisory Committee is currently reviewing a draft plan for release to the public this summer. Public comment is welcomed, Russell said. The committee will meet at 6 p.m. on July 13th at 3050 Delta Road in Eugene.
