May 15: 18:58: Crash, Non-Injury – Hwy. 126E, Milepost 17. A Toyota Corolla was stopped to turn onto a driveway near a residence. The driver was waiting for a safe time to turn into the driveway from the highway. The driver observed a Ford Mustang approaching from the rear, attempted to avoid a collision, and was struck from behind by the Mustang, also attempting to avoid the crash. The Mustang driver admitted fault and advised they looked down and looked up but could not stop in time. The Toyota had a juvenile passenger in the front right seat. All parties had no apparent injuries. Insurance information was exchanged. The Toyota was removed from the roadway by the residents and the Mustang was towed. No impairment, both vehicles had airbag deployment, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts.
May 19: 21:15: Warrant Arrest – Hwy. 126E, Mp. 47. Troopers responded to a report of a non-responsive person lying on the shoulder of the highway. The male was located and found to have a serviceable arrest warrant out of Eugene Municipal Court. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail where he was lodged without incident. His property was transported to the Springfield Patrol Office and lodged into safekeeping. Involved: 44-year-old male from Redmond.
