Landslide closes Auferheide Drive

A landslide on USFS Road 19 (Aufderheide Drive) in the McKenzie River Ranger District has made the road impassable. The slide occurred north of FSR 1980 and south of the French Pete Campground.

Terwilliger Hot Springs and Cougar Crossing Campground access is still open from Highway 126.

Before traveling on Aufderheide Drive, people can contact the McKenzie River Ranger Station at (541) 822-3381 for current road conditions or closures.

Until further notice, officials advise people to prepare for winter driving, pack supplies for winter travel, and use caution when traveling on forest roads - especially in winter.
